The Limerick International Music Festival

The popular Limerick International Music Festival will feature orchestral, choral and chamber concerts in Limerick city in the historic Franciscan Church, a fantastic new venue.
The festival is superbly complemented by art exhibitions, theatrical shows, family days and a special music camp for children.
The ‘star’ is the overall programme, the most diverse and accessible the festival has yet seen, appealing to a wide audience while maintaining the highest level of artistic excellence for which the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s festival is known.

The Hunt Museum

The Hunt Museum presents Sean Keating in Focus, an exhibition from June 25th-September 9th examining the many aspects of one of Ireland’s most important and controversial twentieth century artists.
Born in Limerick, Sean Keating was a popular artist, teacher, writer and broadcaster whose career spanned seventy years.-the exhibition features works that have never been exhibited in public before.
The Hunt Museum is also running art workshops in July for eight to twelve year olds exploring the arts and crafts of South America, Asia and Africa.

Limerick City Gallery of Art

Limerick City Gallery of Art presents two wonderful exhibitions this summer including A Place to Stay, a new series of paintings by Limerick based artist Gillian Kenny running until July 12th.
From Kilkee to Niagra Falls, join us on a pictorial tour inspired by Gillian’s travels and vintage postcards of all our collective holidays.
From June 15th to August 30th Behind Smoke and Mirrors turns the gallery into studios, bringing together five exciting young artists to develop new works in this public environment. Aideen Barry, Bernardine Carroll, Garvan Gallagher, Carl Giffney and Emma Wade have been invited to develop new projects in response to their experience of Limerick and working in LCGA.
This experimental ‘open access studio’ invites you drop in, meet the artists and discuss the work in development.

Thomond Park Museum
Thomond Park Stadium, Limerick
The new stadium has incorporated a spectacular interactive museum that showcases the proud history and heritage of Munster Rugby including an impressive range of memorabilia such as the match ball from the famous victory against the All Blacks in 1978 and the 2006 Heineken Cup trophy. The Museum also contains fantastic interactive displays and touch screens suitable for all ages with a specially commissioned film titled “We are Munster” that portrays the tradition & history of the club and the unique bond that it shares with its loyal supporters.
